The Thriving Town Of Ford
Little Town In Clark County Once Was A Booming Lumber Center
Burt and Brabb Lumber Company, Ford, Kentucky, opened in the late 1800s. Before the locks and dams were built on the Kentucky River in 1912 and 1914, logs were floated down river from Jackson, Beattyville, and Stanton. The lumber mill closed down in 1912.
