The Jessamine County Historical and Genealogical Society (JCHGS) was organized in January 1949 by a small group of people dedicated to preserving the heritage of a history rich county. After five decades of work on saving historical sites, revitalizing cemeteries, hosting two history fests, reenacting a 1794 Fourth of July celebration at Col. William C. Price's home and pushing for the passage of HB 521 in the 2002 Legislative Session, the JCHGS is on the Web. People who have ancestors who were once part of Jessamine County history or who are interested in learning more about the above projects, can visit us on the web at http://www.jesshistorical.org/

Other Kentucky history and genealogy groups are invited to submit announcements for this column. Thanks!
