Triple Wedding...
These three Salyersville, Magoffin County, Kentucky, couples were married on January 31, 1931, at Louisa in Lawrence County. James E. Allen, 447 Kentucky Street, Salyersville, KY 41465, shares this photo of (l-r) Buck and Lillie Mae Carpenter Patrick, Howard and Rebecca Reed Prater, and Forrest "Cricket" and Alma Arnett Frazier. James says that when he started grade school in the fall of 1936, Rebecca Reed Prater was his first grade teacher. In 1937 Alma Arnett Frazier was his second grade teacher. Howard Prater died in military service in Europe on December 21, 1944. Another photo of Howard Prater appeared in the September 1999 issue of The Kentucky Explorer on page 43.

Dewey D. Partin is shown when he was a teenager riding a hay rake on his father's farm at Swan Lake in Knox County, Kentucky. Dewey is the son of Gordon and Lillie Mae Jones Partin. He was born April 26, 1934, at Swan Lake, where he grew up and attended Engle School. Dewey left Kentucky at an early age and went to Michigan to work. He married Juanita Faye Campbell, and they had three children: Johnny, Donna, and Denise. Dewey and Juanita still reside in Michigan. Jack Loyde Creech, 18497 N. W. 24th Avenue, Citra, FL 32113, shares this photo taken on Easter Sunday in 1942 on Cloverlick River Road, Cumberland, Harlan County, Kentucky. Front row, l-r: Wayne Creech (was killed in the Belgium Battle of the Bulge in WWII), Emerson and Edison Creech (twins, who were in the Marines, later returning to Cumberland and operating Creech Motors), and Paul Creech (was a survivor of the Pearl Harbor bombing). Back row, l-r: Glen D. Creech (a business man in Lexington, Kentucky), Strail Creech (part owner of Creech Motors), Joe Atlee Creech (a mechanic at Creech motors), Hillery Creech (Jack's father, owned several businesses in Cumberland, Kentucky, including Cumberland Motel on Main Street), and Rada Lloyd Creech Day (Jack's grandmother).

John McGowan, 718 Old Sano Road, Russell Springs, KY 42642, shares this photo taken in 1975 in Russell Springs, Russell County, Kentucky. The boy driving is Kenneth McGowan. The man next to him is Talt Jones. The man on the right, facing forward, is Doug Loveless. The other man is Everett "Hook" Wilson.

Madeline Sparks, 149 Evans Road, Olive Hill, KY 41164; 606/286-5926, shares this photo of the Kelley family. The only ones that are identified are William Alvin Kelley, Madeline's grandfather, second row, fourth person from left. Next to him is Madeline's grandmother, Nora Roseberry Kelly. Next to her is Amos Gilliam and his wife, Gracie Kelley Gilliam. Feel free to contact Madeline with the names of the others.
