Poke "Sallet" Recipe Wanted
Dear Editor:
I am looking for a poke "sallet" recipe.
When I was growing up, my mother, Pearl Allen, used to fix this dish for us. I don't remember recipe.
We have a lot of poke growing here in Georgia. Also, we have a lot of elderberries, so I am interested in recipes for jelly and wine.

Green Tomato Relish
Recipe Wanted

Dear Editor:
I would like a recipe for what my mother called green tomato relish. She mixed green tomatoes and jalapeno peppers and fermented it like kraut for 21 days.
Mother canned everything she could to help feed her nine children.

My mother was born at Wheelwright, Floyd County, Kentucky, and I have seen a photo taken ca. 1930 of Main Street.
I am putting together a scrapbook of mother's family, the Osbornes and Hopkins, and would like a copy of the photo.
