Wanted: Recipe For Lye Soap
Dear Editor:
I would like to know if any reader might have a recipe for the old-fashioned lye soap.
I remember when I was young my family made and used it, since we lived on a farm. The soap would remove most stains.

Searching For Relatives
John and Ailene Hayes

Dear Editor:
In 1959 John and wife, Ailene, lived in Loyall, Harlan County, Kentucky. They sold and cleaned furnaces. My brother, David Donald Hall, worked for these folks and enjoyed their friendship as well.
Don believes they were from the McKee or Gray Hawk area. Don is 80 years young this month and recovering well from double-lung surgery.
Any information can be relayed through me. I'm Don's baby brother.
I've enjoyed The Kentucky Explorer for 12 years.

Dale Hollow And Cumberland Lakes Photos Wanted
Dear Editor:
I am interested in any Kentucky Explorer magazines that have pictures of the Dale Hollow Lake area prior to its being flooded. I would very much appreciate copies.
Also, if anyone has photos of Cumberland Lake prior to flooding, I would like those, too.
I will gladly pay for whatever is available.
