The Louisville & Nashville (L&N) Railroad line is shown in the background. Lock 14 is located on the other side of the tracks. The old coal tipple is visible in the background where barges were loaded on the Kentucky River.

In the left photo is Frank Brewer and Fannie King on their wedding day, August 18, 1914, at Wilhurst, Breathitt County, Kentucky. L-R: Frank, Brewer, Fannie King, and David Brewer (Frank's father). Fannie died in 1921. She was the daughter of Jeff and Elizabeth Gibbs King. Frank and Fannie had one daughter, Edna Brewer, who married Roy Hobbs. In the bottom photo are Sarah Taulbee Eldridge and her daughter, Mary Eldridge Stidham. Sara was the daughter of John W. and Angeline Birchfield Taulbee. She married Bud Eldridge.
