Wants Information On
The New Madrid Earthquake
I really enjoy reading The Kentucky Explorer.
My co-workers and I were discussing earthquakes when someone said that back in the early 1800s there was a really bad earthquake around the New Madrid fault that made the Ohio River larger and the Mississippi River run backward.
Is there any truth to this?
I would like to hear from readers from Owensboro, Daviess County, Kentucky, and Central City and Martwick, Muhlenberg County, Kentucky.

Longing For Blackberry
There is a heavy blackberry bloom this year.
If the weather cooperates there should be a big crop of berries. I am longing for a blackberry jam pie like my mother used to make.
If anyone has a recipe for blackberry jam pie, I would appreciate a copy.
Also, if anyone puts up some blackberry jam this summer and has some extra they would like to sell, let me know.
