One-Room School Info. Wanted
For Rowan County

Dear Editor:
I am collecting photos and information on all the one-room schools that were once in Rowan County, Kentucky, for a preservation project with the Rowan County Historical Society.
If anyone has anything, such as photos, locations of schools, or information on teachers, students, etc., it would be greatly appreciated.
All contributions will be recognized.
Let's preserve Morehead's and Rowan County's historic past.
Readers may call from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. weekdays.

Descendant Of Tom Hudson
Dear Editor:
The May 2009 issue of The Kentucky Explorer held an exciting surprise for me. While reading the article "Big Man Hunt For 'Bad Jake' Noble," I discovered that the sheriff who pursued Bad Jake was none other than my great-grandfather, Tom Hudson. Having been a sheriff's deputy myself, I was proud to learn that my ancestor was considered to be one of the most fearless men in the mountains. I'm honored to have followed in his footsteps and carried on the law enforcement tradition.
