Each month, The Kentucky Explorer magazine receives literally scores of letters from our faithful readers. Whenever possible, we try to publish as many of them as possible in the 12 pages we have set aside for "Letters to the Editor."
Here are actual letters from November 2005
Searching For Info.
My grandmother, Gracie Truman Shipp, was an evangelist at a church in Willowtown, Taylor County, Kentucky, back in the 1920s and possibly in the 1930s. She lived at Raywick in Marion County.
I would appreciate hearing from any reader who has any information or photos of Willowtown. Any response will be greatly appreciated.

John Lair's Daughter Identifies
Renfro Valley Entertainers
On page 41 of the June 2005 issue of The Kentucky Explorer was a photo of the Renfro Valley entertainers during the early 1940s, along with an excellent article about Ernie Lee Cornelison.
I have seen this photo printed before with some wrong identifications.
I would like to offer the correct identifications for the photograph, as I am the daughter of John Lair and knew each of those pictured (with exception of the fiddle player).
John Lair is at the microphone. Back row, l-r: "Slim" Miller, Lynn Davis, Jack Holden, "Brownie" Reynolds, Jerry Behrens, and Fairley Holden (half-hidden). Center, l-r: Roy "Shorty" Hobbs and "Red" Herrin. Seated, l-r: "Little Eller" Long, Ruth Travers, Molly O'Day, and Ruby Travers.
