Each month, The Kentucky Explorer magazine receives literally scores of letters from our faithful readers. Among those letters we often find queries, ranging from requests for words to songs and poems to trying to locate former classmates and military buddies of long ago.

Here are a few queries from our December 2004/January 2005 issue.

Seek info. on James Lile, came to Green Co., Ky., from Harrodsburg, had Abe Lile, settled in Barren Co., later Hart Co. (the part that became Metcalfe), m. Sally Wilcoxson (niece of Daniel Boone), children: Ben, b. 1836, m. 1st, Green Co., Elizabeth Parker; m. 2nd, McLean Co., Lucy Mitchell, d. Three Springs, Hart Co. Ben moved back to Green Co. Ben's children: Mary Tom Lile, m. Luther McCubbins; William Alfred Lile, m. 1st, Martha Jane Marcum, m. 2nd, Eliza Jane Corum, and m. 3rd, Virginia M. Milby; Victoria Lile, m. John Marcum; and Alberta Lile, m. Jim Milby. Most of this family moved to Hardin, Bullitt, and Jefferson Cos.
