Each month, The Kentucky Explorer magazine receives literally scores of letters from our faithful readers. Among those letters we often find queries, ranging from requests for words to songs and poems to trying to locate former classmates and military buddies of long ago.

Here are a few queries from our November 2003

Seek info. on descendants of Dickerson Thompson, came to Wayne Co., Ky., ca. 1804, had Greenberry; Richard; and James, had Dickerson. It is listed on the 1850 Wayne Co. census that Dickerson was son of Greenberry. A Dickerson Thompson m. Isabella Stogsdill, Pulaski Co., Ky., 8/17/1852, a Civil War veteran, and buried in Keith Cemetery, McCreary Co. Is this the same Dickerson? Any info. appreciated.

Seek info. on my g. grandmother, Elizabeth Ramey, b. 12/14/1837, d. Concord, Pendleton Co., Ky., possibly lived in Greenup Co., Ky., dau. of Able B. Ramey (b. between 1780-1802, Bath Co., Ky.) and Sally Phelps/Phillips (m. 12/5/1821, Bath Co., Ky.), m. 1860, Boston Steele, Va., moved to Pendleton Co. Able's other children were: William Perry Ramey (1830-1909), Archie Ramey (d. Greenup Co.), Littleton/Lilburn Ramey (b. 1838, d. Greenup Co.), Trumbo "Trum" Ramey (b. ca. 1842, lived in Greenup Co.), Jesse Ramey (lived in Greenup Co.), and Ruth Ramey (b. ca. 1837, lived in Greenup Co.). Able was son of Archibald Ramey (b. 1759, d. 1859, Fleming Co.) and Martha Cassidy. Any info. appreciated.
