"Traveler's Rest" at Knob Hill, Near Danville

"Traveler's Rest," located near Knob Lick, just south of Danville in Lincoln County, was the home of Kentucky's first governor, Isaac Shelby. It was alleged to have been among the first stone houses ever built in Kentucky. Major T. H. Shelby lived here as a boy.
