Other popular features found in our magazine each month pertain to items that our readers have for sale. These generally appear in our Kentucky Explorer Classified Ads and Kentucky Explorer Book Page, but occasionally are found in Letters To The Editor or other pages, too.
Here are a few things for sale by readers from our October 2001 issue:
Swango Family Book
A new Swango book, updated from the 1976 edition of The Swango Family, will be published in June of 2002. The book (8 1/2 by 11 inches) will contain over 500 pages and the history of the Swango family (who came in 1747 from Bavaria, in what is now Germany) and a genealogy section with over 12,000 names. There will be a section of pictures, selected biographies of Swangos, and documented information on Swangos in the Civil War; both South and North, all printed on acid-free paper. Until November 31, 2001, we are having a pre-sale on this book for $25, for softbound and $35 for hardbound, plus $4 shipping per book. After the above date, the prices will be $32 for softbound and $42 hardback, plus $4 per book shipping.
