Wolfe County Genealogy

In the era following statehood, migration from Virginia, Tennessee, and North Carolina settled much of the border counties of eastern and southeastern Kentucky. Many of these families or their descendants moved on northward and took root in Wolfe and its adjacent counties. Consequently, Wolfe County has proven to be a rich source of genealogical information for those searching Eastern Kentucky genealogy. Nearly 100 years later the Wolfe County Woman's Club published the first Wolfe County history. If it were not for that book much of Wolfe County's rich history would have been lost forever. A new 519-page edition contains 27 articles covering aspects of Wolfe County's history and genealogy that provide valuable historical perspective for the researcher. The limited printing consists of two editions: A gold-embossed hardback for $39 and a softback edition for $29 (prices include handling and priority mailing). To order, contact: Billye Adams, P. O. Box 10, Campton, KY 41301. Checks should be made out to the Wolfe County Woman's Club.
