Sam Watkins General Store, 1928

Sam and Suzie Watkins were the proprietors of a general store in Wofford, a small community north of Williamsburg, in this 1928 photo. Many of the items shown are no longer available. The device mounted to the counter was used to cut plug tobacco. Sam was a cousin to Mr. Smith's grandmother, Rhoda Ellen Carter Floyd (Photo courtesy of Richard V.
