Flanders School (Leslie Co.), 1941

Faye Farley Causey, 345 HWY 522, Baxter, KY 40806, shares this photo with our readers. She writes, "This is a photo of an old log schoolhouse that housed grades first through eighth. The school was called Flanders School and located on Lower Bad Creek, near Hoskinston, Leslie County, Kentucky. The photo was taken in 1941. A lady named Mrs. Flanders provided the funds to turn the boardinghouse into a schoolhouse, because the children in Bad Creek didn't have a school."
