Each month, The Kentucky
Explorer magazine receives literally scores of letters from
our faithful readers. Among those letters we often find queries,
ranging from requests for words to songs and poems to trying
to locate former classmates and military buddies of long ago.

"Sweet
Bread"
Recipe Wanted
Dear Editor:
I am looking for a recipe for "sweet bread" that my
grandmother and great-grandmother made when I was a child.
The bread had the consistency of course, homemade bread. It
was sweet and slightly yellow in color with a crusty top. It
was cooked/baked in an iron skillet.
My mother, Grace Henson, could not remember how her mother made
the bread, so we are hoping that Kentucky Explorer readers might
have a recipe they would share with us.
I grew up in Russell Springs, Kentucky, and my grandmother's
family lived in the area their entire lives.
Readers may contact me or my mother with information.

Trying
To Find A Friend
Dear Editor:
I'm interested in locating Jeannette Holcomb who graduated from
Cumberland High School in 1952. She was a special friend of Barbara
Sue Kilgore.
If anyone has any information on Jeannette Holcomb or her family,
please contact me.
